A very sad looking little boy is ready to be evacuated

During World War II thousands of young children had to be evacuated from our major cities to the safety of the more rural countryside.  This Royal Doulton figurine depicts a young boy looking very sad and frightened ready to leave his family and friends.  He stands waiting to board the train with a brown paper parcel tucked under his arm and his suitcase by his side, his gas mask hangs behind his back and the paper name tag is clearly visable tied to the front of his cardigan.

This figurine was produced in 1989 in the Children of the Blitz series, it displays well with the Girl Evacuee HN 3203, two years later in 1991 Royal Doulton produced the same two children returning home after the war they are The Homecoming HN 3295 AND Welcome Home HN 3299.

This figurine is of first quality with no chips, cracks or restoration.
