Robert Burns ( 25th January 1759-21st July 1796 ) was most readily known as Robbie Burns, Rabbie Burns Scotlands favorite son was a Scottish poet and lyricist. One of his most famous poems  ( and song ) " Auld Lang Syne" is often sang at Hogmanay ( the last day of the year ). This Royal Doulton figurine of Robert Burns shows him sitting on a bridge in his home town of Ayr ( Scotland ) reading or reciting one of his poems or lyrics.
